GLOBAL MISSIONS
VT Albania
Albania

VT Albania is a Christian aid organization that began in the United Kingdom to help one physically disabled young Albanian woman with medical needs, but has now expanded to help dozens of others through the provision of a daycare center between the two largest cities in Albania (Tirana and Durrës). What began as a focused effort towards empowering those primarily with physical disabilities in their academic careers, VT has expanded to meet the felt need of those with varying physical and cognitive disabilities in the rural areas of the Durrës district, where the lack of resources is great.

VT seeks to remove barriers to access and foster a community that leads to growth for those with disabilities in Albania.

  • VT provides a day center and sponsors special outings and activities for its students to socialize outside of their homes, with individuals other than their immediate family members.

  • VT offers transportation to the center for its students with a handicap-accessible school bus.

  • VT employs teachers and a physical therapist at its center, as well as utilizes a network of volunteers to invest in the lives of these students from their academic education to their personal development for a holistic approach.

Don and Cheri Floyd
Papa New Guinea

Don and Cheri each began to follow Jesus as teens—Don in Australia and Cheri in Tennessee. In 1989 they met as volunteers in Papua New Guinea. In 1991 Don and Cheri married and began to serve The Wesleyan Church of Papua New Guinea full time. Don is a carpenter. He supports the Papua New Guinea Wesleyan Church through building, maintenance, and training men in these skills. Cheri is a keen supporter of women’s ministries in Papua New Guinea. The Floyds are passionate about community development, including health, education, access to technology, and clean water projects. The Floyds’ two older sons, Stephen and William, have moved to America for university. Jono is still at home with Don and Cheri.

Cambodia

At Southern Wesleyan University, I felt Jesus’ call on my life to not be silent about His good news and to share it day after day and never stop. Similarly, I felt the urgent need to help those affected by human trafficking in Cambodia. Men and women who not only live in the darkness of the sex industry but live in an area where access to the gospel is limited. I am passionate about shepherding women and children to be the individuals Jesus has designed them to be. In Cambodia, I will spread the good news by teaching occupational skills to women within the sex industry, praying with and rehabilitating those who support the industry, building relationships through photography and discipling young women and children within the church. My desire is to share the light of Jesus in Cambodia.

Acts 5:42 “Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.”

Missions Mobilization and Care

After serving in Central America for 7 years, working to amplify leaders, we accepted a stateside appointment within the Mobilization Department (Fall 2022). We are serving as the Southeastern Regional Mobilizers, with Christy taking on an additional role as a Care Specialist. Our heart is to see a new generation of people raised up to say “yes” to Jesus and be on mission with Him. We are trusting Jesus to multiply our 1 family, serving in 1 part of the world, into dozens upon dozens of families serving Jesus in that many different places around the world.

“The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.” - Matthew 9:37-38

Czech Prague

My home is Hurt, Virginia, USA. I came with RCE (Resourcing Christian Education International).

Share one or two lessons you have learned from your students.

"I’ve learned from my students that being different is not a bad thing. They are from so many different countries and have been to so many different places, and they still love and accept each other. Diversity is something incredibly beautiful, and classrooms like the ones here at CISP show a tiny picture of what Heaven will be like."

What is your favorite thing about living in Prague or the Czech Republic?

"My favorite thing about living in Prague is the beauty of the city, and how access to it is at my fingertips. I can hop on a metro or tram and go to Old Town Square, the Charles Bridge, or Prague Castle easily and within minutes."

Pregnancy Resource Center
Know your options. Know the risks. Have a plan.

When an unplanned pregnancy arises, a woman and her partner may have a hard time seeing beyond how it affects their immediate future. Many see abortion as their only option.

The Pregnancy Resource Center of the New River Valley is dedicated to presenting women with all of their options. We are a non-profit medical clinic and Christian outreach for those facing an unplanned pregnancy. We do not perform or refer for abortions. We have been serving in the New River Valley community since 1985. All our services are free and confidential.

The Agape Center
Christiansburg, VA

The Agape Center NRV is part of a larger network of Agape Centers in Virginia. The first Agape Center was formed in Moneta, VA, in 2002. They have grown from a simple food pantry and clothing closet to a large multifaceted ministry that serves upwards of 3,000 individuals each month.

The Agape Center NRV has been a God-planted dream for many years. There have been many prayers and steps leading to its formation. Our network of member churches and businesses has grown through deep, genuine, and valued relationships founded on the unity and love only found in Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit.

The Agape Center is a God-directed outreach ministry to attend to the felt needs of man while addressing man's spiritual needs in a manner that gives God the glory.

SHIELD Chaplaincy
Roanoke, VA

At Shield Chaplaincy, we believe that if officers are emotionally and spiritually healthy, they are more likely to serve longer, do a better job while serving, and find greater fulfillment both at work and at home.  Working in cooperation with Roanoke City Police, Roanoke County Police, Salem Police, and the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, we aim to provide full-time chaplains to support our local law enforcement officers.  Chaplains Stephenson and Potter have met privately with hundreds of officers and completed more than 1,000 ride-alongs with officers and deputies from these four departments, allowing them to see firsthand everything law enforcement encounters during their shifts.
